It is true that, many animals have offered their services for mankind and become a significant part of human history. Here are the top 10 historically famous animals.

10. Dolly, the Cloned Sheep


Dolly is very popular sheep, also known as the world’s most famous sheep. In 5th July 1996, she was born from the cloning of a ewe’s mammary glands and more that, Dolly was cloned at the Roslin Institute of the University of Edinburgh. In biology, cloning is the process of producing similar populations of genetically identical individuals that occurs in nature when organisms such as bacteria, insects or plants reproduce asexually. Dolly was died on 14th February, 2003 by progressive lung disease.

9. Mr. Magoo, the Mongoose with a life Sentence


In United States of America, Mongoose is prohibited animal. He was taken from the Duluth Zoo and sentenced to death or transportation back to his motherland, India on 15th November, 1962. He was prohibited in the United States, causing a huge uproar. He was died in 1968.

8. Ham, the Astrochimp


Ham was born in 1956. He was brought to Holloman Air Force Base in United States of America in 1959 and at this time he was just 3 years old. His space set of clothes and approaching performance helped him to come back to earth after a space journey of 16 minutes and 39 seconds and more that, Ham come back with no more injury than a bruised nose. In May 1961, His flight led to the task made by the spacecraft named Freedom 7. Ham lived a happy life of 17 year and died in 1983.

7. Laika, the dog who went to space


Laike was born in 1954. She was a Soviet space dog who became one the first animals in space and the first animal to orbit the Earth. In 1957, Laike was chosen by Russian scientists to be aboard the Soviet spacecraft called Sputnik 2 and more that, at that time, Laika was sent out was a precursor of space journeys by humans. She was died in Novermber 3, 1957, Low Earth Orbit and it was believed that she had died of depleting oxygen after about sixteen days.

6. Sam, the Unsinkable Cat


Mr. Sam was a very brave cat. During the World War II, Sam managed to stay alive after 3 shipwrecks. Sam was found, floating on a plank in an “angry but unharmed” condition. Sam was died in 1955 at Seaman’s home.

5. Huberta, the Explorer Hippopotamus


Huberta was a hippopotamus and one of the most famous animals in South African history. In November 1928 Huberta left her waterhole in the St. Lucia Estuary in Zululand and set off on the 1600 km journey to the Eastern Cape. In 1931, she arrived in East London. She was declared the Royal Game, but, some sick hunter with twisted minds shot her. Huberta can now be seen in the Amathole Museum in King William’s Town.

4. Balto, the Sled Dog


Balto was very brave dog. He was born in 1919 and more that, Balto was a sled dog of the Siberian husky breed. Balto was popular because he led his team on the final leg of the 1925 serum run to Noma. Balto was died in March 14, 1933, at this time Balto was 14 year old and he was died due to old age.

3. Cher Ami, the Homing Pigeon


Cher Ami was as well known as any human World War I heroes. In 1918, the Army of United States of America uses the Cher Ami as a Signal Corps during the World War I. In the battle against Germany, 500 men were trapped in depression on the hillside with no food and ammunition. At this time, they use Cher Ami as Signal Corps. Cher Ami received a gold medal from the Organized Bodies of American Racing Pigeon Fanciers in recognition of her extraordinary service during World War I.

2. Stubby, the Dog who served as a Sergeant


Stubby was the first dog, who offered his services to the United States of America during World War I. Stubby made friends with Corporal Robert Conroy and travelled to France and more that, they performed many military tasks. Stubby was wounded several times, during the participation in 4 offensive and 17 battles. Stubby was died on 4 April, 1926 and at this time, Stubby was about 9 or 10 years old.

1. Chetak, the Warhorse


Chetak was very brave horse and during the Battle of Haldighati in 1576, Chetak offer his services as a Warhorse and in this battle, Mewar’s Rajput ruler, Maharana Pratap ride on this warhorse. In the clash that result, the elephant’s tusk tore from side to side Chetak’s (horse) leg, and crippled him, but, Chetak refused to give way to the pain, and carried Pratap (Mewar’s Rajput ruler) away to help him get away so that the Rajput would have a quantity of hope left to rule Mewar.
