DMK General Assembly on Sunday allocated complete authority to party leader M Karunanidhi and General Secretary K Anbazhagan to discuss and conclude alliance-related matters for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Resolution said that This General Council presents entire authority to party leader, general secretary to communicate coalition parties, talk about chair distributing and broadcast a managing group to take ahead coalition for the elections.
That conclusion was taken in a tenacity taken up at the meeting of the general assembly here which was chaired by Karunanidhi. The General Council is DMK’s key decision-making body.
An erstwhile ally of the Congress, DMK had broken its binds with that party early this year over the Sri Lankan Tamils issue. Although it organized to percussion instrument up that party’s support for Karunanidhi’s female child Kanimozhi throughout the Rajya Sabha elections which she effectively contested.
