According to the schools officials, A 13 year old student from Maine suffered first and second degree burns after the iPhone she was carrying in her pants pocket caught in fire.


According to the Jeff Rodman (school principal), The eighth grader was in class at Kennebunk Middle School when heard a pop and smoke began to billow from her pants.


Two classmates came there for help; one of the classmates went to the alert school staff and brings a fire blanket. The other classmates help the girl to bring out iphone from pocket and fell out.


Injured girl was taken to Sothern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, where she was treated for burns and after recovering she was released.


Fire officials are investigation the incident and finding in the search of the fire reason.


In the past mostly case was made due to the overheating of batteries.
