Washington Post report on Tuesday, The United States has cut back on its drone strike in Pakistan after the Islamabad government asked for restraint while it seek peace talks with the Pakistani Taliban.
U.S official said that, that’s what they asked for and we did not tell them no. The report said, the Obama administration indicated it would continue carrying out strike on senior al-Qaeda officials if they were to become available or to thwart any immediate threat to American.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that, he wants the drone strike to end.
That attack took place a day after Pakistan’s foreign policy chief Sartaj Aziz was quaoteed as saying the United State had promised not to conduct drone strike while the government tries to engage the Taliban in peace talks.
