A novel written by late movie icon Charlie Chaplin has been published for the first time after 66 years, he was perfect silent comedian actor who made his identity in Hollywood movies by his perfect body language.


Silent Charlie film star, who died in 1977, is believed to have started writing the book, titled Footlights, in 1948 and it went on to become the basis of his 1952 film Limelight.


The novel tells the story of a romance between a young ballerina and an ageing clown in London, and it has now been published in full for the first time with the permission of Chaplin’s family.


Charlie’s this novel launched at an event in London in Tuesday, Feb 4, 2014 attended by veteran actress Claire Bloom, who made her big screen debut in Limelight with Chaplin.
