Mexico City: Hurricane Norbert Hits to Mexico’s Pacific coast on Saturday and left 800 homes flooded, more than 2,000 people were evacuated.
According to the US National Weather Service, with winds of up to 185 kilometer per hour, the storm greater than before to a category 3-hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
Carlos Miguel Enriquez Rincon (director of the state’s Civil Protection Unit) said, the most damage caused by the storm up to now has been in San Carlos (city).
Heavy rains throughout the region were expected however, with between three and six inches expected over the central and northern regions of the Baja peninsula.
Approximately 500 homes were smashed while some families who refused to go away their properties were powerfully evacuated. The official said that a red alert is being maintained throughout the region. It’s expected that the storm will weaken in the next 24 hours.
