According to official; 2 skydivers were killed Tuesday when they crashed mid-air during a jump over Eloy, Ariz.
Eloy Police Sgt. Brian Jerome said in a statement that one skydiver was founded dead and the others died at a local hospital, Police have not released the identities of the victims.
By the witnesses Jerome said that the two skydivers crashed in mid-air with their parachutes open probably 200 to 300 feet above the ground. According to Jerome; their parachute canopies fell down and both separately plummeted to the ground.
3rd skydiver also sustained injuries, but police said it was not related to or caused by the crash between the other 2 skydivers.
The crash happened around 4:51 p.m. local time at Skydive Arizona, a training facility that operates out of the Eloy Municipal Airport, about 60 miles south of Phoenix. Jerome said, the cause of the collision is under investigation.
According to information; Skydive Arizona started in 1978 and averages over 135,000 jumps per year.
