Jordan Elected to Replace Saudi Arabia UN Security Council

Six December, the United Nation General Assembly on Friday replaced Saudi Arabia and elected to Jordan, which rejected its 2 years term in protest at the council’s failure to end the war in Syria.


According to news that in General Assembly’s 193 countries members participated and 178 voted to Jordan. After refused Saudi Arabia, Arab countries elected to Jordon for this seat all also Asian countries appreciate this election.






The United states General Assembly first time elected Saudi Arabia for 2 years for 17 Council Non-permanent members.


According to information, Saudi Arabia was elected in October to join the 15-member council from January 1, for a two year period as a non-permanent member but in an unprecedented move Riyadh declined the role a day after the vote.
