Amaury Leveaux has one of the best track records of the French swimming with two silver medals at the Games in 2008 (50m freestyle and 4x100m freestyle relay), two medals at the London ( gold in the 4x100m relay and 4x200m silver) .And still holds the world record in the 100m freestyle short course.
The swimmer had also experienced its heyday during the championships European Short Course in 2008 in Rijeka, Croatia , with four titles (50 m and 100 m freestyle, 50 m butterfly and 4×50 free relay) and all records the world.
The Mulhouse, renowned for his whimsical and unpredictable, had already announced to take a sabbatical year in November, while his last official release in the basins was the series of 4×100 freestyle relay at the World Championships in Barcelona this summer.
Amaury Leveaux also leave the image of a very talented swimmer but irregular, which often changed coaches or clubs, often as a function of motivation of the moment. In particular, he is smiling admitting having eaten a hamburger in small lunch , a few hours before winning the silver medal in the 50 freestyle at the Beijing Olympics.
