Microsoft-owned Skype’s Twitter accounts display the message, “Don’t use Microsoft emails (hotmail, outlook), they are monitoring your accounts and selling the data to the government. It was posted around 1030 GMT but was removed less than two hours later.
Washington: The Syrian Electronic Army hacker group laid down its sights on Skype’s social media accounts Wednesday to point the finger at Microsoft of spying on user data. The group has also in previously hacked the accounts of The New York Times, Agence France-Press and other media association.
The SEA said in a posting on its own Twitter accounts, “You can thank Microsoft for monitoring your accounts/email using this detail,”.
The SEA’s latest attacks materialize to be connected to document released by National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden, which naked the PRISM surveillance program.
Skype’s Twitter account was also said to have posted the message: “Stop spying on people! Via Syrian Electronic Army” But links by the SEA’s Twitter account to Skype’s blog and Face book accounts did not occupation, and no SEA communication appeared on those sites around 0030 GMT, having it appears that been removed.
