Moratuwa: The Sri Lanka President’s XI named super victory against Pakistan as they beat them by 13 runs in warm-up match of three-match One-Day International series, at Tyronne Fernando Stadium.
A warm-up match of upcoming three-match One-Day International series played at Tyronne Fernando Stadium,a suburb of Colombo city, Moratuwa.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first and their openers showed well responsible batting as openers Danushka Gunathilaka and Tillakaratne Dilshan scored 48 in 7.2 overs.
The President’s XI lost their first two wickets at 48-2, all batsmen showed their marvelous battings and hit hard Misbah-eleven’s bowlers as Gunathilaka scored 51, Ashan Priyanjan-65, Kithuruwan Vithanage -56, Thisara Perera were not out at 52 and all were successful to scored a highest target for their rivals. Mohammad Hafeez showed awesome bowling as received 44 and 4 wickets at 4.40 economy rate.
In the answer Pakistani Openers came out in the stadium to chase the tough target, Hafeez played a fabulous innings against President’s XI bowlers in the beginning and scored 54, Umar Akmal- 7, Ahmed Shehzad-39, Misbah-38 and Shahid Afridi-37 but besides that they couldn’t chase the target and all went to pavilion and Sri Lankan won by 13 runs.
The Tiger’s bowlers, Thisara Perera, Dushmantha Chameera and Suraj Randiv took 2, 2, 2 wickets. The first ODI will be played in Hambantota on Saturday 23rd August.
