Beijing: at least 44 people were killed and 18 other were still missing in Massive Flooding in western China.
The flooding was caused by heavy rain since August 31, with the provinces of Sichuan and Guizhou affected by the calamity.
Huge damage has also been dealt to crops and homes the news agency said a total of 2,251 houses had collapsed in the rainstorms, while 25,000 more homes have been damaged.
Nearly 40,000 people have been evacuated from their homes and more than More than 1,000 local residents have been evacuated from the surrounding area.
A major center, the Chongqing (City in China) suffered as well, with all but one of the deaths occurring there, and where all of the missing was reported.
