Gaza City: An Israeli airstrike killed a militant chief (Daniel Mansour) in the Gaza Strip on Monday, just hours ahead of an expected 7-hour truce announced by Israel that was meant to open a “humanitarian window” for aid.
Israeli Army said that, the cease-fire, which was to establish at 10 a.m. (07:00 GMT), would not be valid to areas where troops were still operating and where they would respond to any attacks.
According to the Islamic Jihad group (close ally of Gaza’s militant Palestinian Hamas rulers), Daniel Mansour was the commander in the northern part of the strip and he was died when the Israeli airstrike hit his home.
Remember that, more than 1,800 Palestinians (civilians) were killed in Israel’s attacks.
