The first European infected by a strain of Ebola, Spanish cleric Miguel Pajares has died in hospital, a spokeswoman for Madrid health authorities stated to international media reporters.
The 75-year-old Pajares was airlifted from Liberia on August 7 after contracting the virus. The priest did work for a non-governmental organization in the African country.
Co-employee Juliana Bohi, a preacher who was also returned back, has tested negative for the Ebola.
