Germany’s Economy Ministry has described it had ended Rheinmetall’s export of clash simulation gear to Russia, international media said.
Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel, a Social Democrat (SPD), has halted the agreement which was approved by Germany’s earlier government. The move goes beyond currently-imposed EU sanctions which end future defense contracts.
“In the light of the EU sanctions, permission to export a combat training center has been revoked,” a spokesman stated. Rheinmetall said on Monday it was in discussions with the German government.
