Washington: India expressed his displeasure with Google because accurate geographical information about military installation and sensitive areas has been leaked.
According to the reports, Indian investigation agency Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has started investigation against Google.
According to information, Indian government is not happy with Google.
Sponsored California company (Google) hold the competition of maps for India. The aim of the competition is that to make a perfect map (according to the Google’s terms and conditions) for India.
Except that Pathankot, the city which contest winner Vishal Saini mapped, is very close to the border of what India calls Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan calls the area Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), or simply Azad Kashmir (“Free Kashmir”). The two countries have fought three wars over the territory since 1947.
According to the Popular Science, unfortunately, when Vishan Saini submitted his contest-winning map to Google, he included a large area labelled “Military Area”.
Google was accused that, Google leaked the information about the sensitive locations of military bases and installations by Google maps.
According to the representatives of Google India, “We are in touch with relevant authorities and take national regulations and security very seriously. We are not aware of any privacy issues and have nothing more to share at this point in time”.
