Kiev: Ukraine’s government said that, separatists shot down a Ukrainian fighter plane after army troops entered deep inside a rebel-controlled city in the east in what could prove a breakthrough development in the 4 month long conflict.

According to the Ukraine’s National Security Council, government forces captured a district police station in Luhansk (City in Ukraine) after bitter clashes in the Velika Vergunka neighborhood.

Oleksiy Dmitrashkovsky (spokesman Ukrainian Military) said on Sunday that, “the separatists have shot down a Ukrainian fighter plane over the Luhansk region after it launched an attack on rebels. The pilot ejected and was taken to a secure place”.

Part of a Russian support group carrying other supplies and food planned for Luhansk (city in Ukraine) and additional bother zones on Sunday headed to the fragment of border closest to the city, but blocked now short of the boundary crossing in the early afternoon.

The group has been abandoned for days in a town near the border along with objection from Ukraine, which initially complained that the assignment was not approved by the international Committee for the Red Cross (which would have responsibility for distributing the aid).

Red Cross said that, “the main holdup was a lack of security guarantees from all sides in the conflict”.
