The United Nations named experts to an international commission of investigation into probable human rights violations and war crimes dedicated by both sides during Israel’s military offensive in the Gaza Strip.
The Foreign Ministry’s senior official stated that in spite of Israel’s efforts to influence the makeup of the panel, the final result is unstable and challenging.
William Schabas, Canadian law professor elected to control a United Nations commission probing possible war crimes in Gaza on Monday at alleges he’s biased against Israel, while Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird scoffed at the UN.
William Schabas stated on Monday in an interview from Toronto, indicating that he’s on the editorial board of the Israel Law Review, “The suggestion that I’m anti-Israel is absurd.”
He said, “Like everybody inside and outside Israel, I disagree with people. Is everyone in Israel who has an opinion about (Benjamin) Netanyahu anti-Israel?”
