The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant warriors have captured a monastery close to northern Iraq’s mainly Christian town, Qaraqosh.
The Sunni militants have more and more targeted Iraq’s Christian minority, forcing numerous to run away Mosul over the weekend.
The Arab biggest militant organization ISIS attacked on the Saint Behnam monastery on Monday, which situated 30 kilometers (20 miles) southeast of Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city.
According to a source statement, “You have no place here anymore; you have to leave immediately.” The clerics were reportedly emphasized to refuse all their possessions and depart from the monastery with nothing apart from the clothes they were wearing.
The Christian families in the area described almost nine clerics may have been living in the monastery.
Other hundred Christian families living in Mosul were emphasized to run away from their residences over the weekend following ISIS militants ordered that they accept Islam or pay a special tax.
