India, Pakistan DGMOs to Meet on 24 December

Director Generals of military operations of India and Pakistan will meet on 24 December at Wagah border to ensure ceasefire on the (LOC), three months after the both Prime Ministers proposed this meeting to resolve tensions. The meeting of the DGMOs was proposed by Pakistan on Tuesday and India accepted it.


The meeting will be held at Wagah Border’s Pakistani side on 24 December, Indian Army headquarters said in New Delhi.

The DGMO of Pakistan invited the Indian DGMO to discuss core issues on 24 December. The two DGMOs usually talk to each other on hotline.


The Indian Army has confirmed that Lieutenant General Vinod Bhatia DGMO Indian army would meet his Pakistani counterpart on the Pakistan side of the Wagah border on December 24.


The Army’s confirmation came after Pakistan DGMO Major General Amir Riaz extended an invitation to the Indian official to meet him. The Army said it had accepted the Pakistan offer for DGMO talks.
