One box would tell the last speed of the vehicle and whether the airbags deployed; the other two should give information on how much gas was going into the engine.

Paul Walker died Nov. 30 when his friend lost control of the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT in which they were riding at Santa Clarita, Calif.

Investigators had recovered three black boxes from the Porsche and all three are “workable” despite the car bursting into flames.

Investigators are now in talks with Porsche to have engineers meet them in mid-January to plug the boxes into another Porsche Carrera GT model for data recovery, the source said.
