Terrorist Attacks Will Not Be Tolerated: Army Chief of Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army Chief, General Raheel Sharif has shows complete support to the government led ongoing peace process but emphasized that terrorist attacks would not be tolerated and will be responded to effectively.


C.O.A.S (Chief of Army Staff) arrived at Corps Headquarters in Peshawar. According to ISPR, General Raheel Sharif visited Corps Headquarters at Peshawar today. COAS laid a wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada on his arrival at Peshawar, paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defence of motherland. Later, he was briefed in detail at the Corps Headquarters about various operational, training and administrative matters. The COAS appreciated the resolve displayed by the officers and men during fight against terrorism and bringing stability to the militancy hit areas. Appreciating the infrastructure building and reconstruction work being undertaken by the Army for socio-economic benefit of the local population of FATA and Malakand, COAS instructed all concerned to ensure quality and timely completion of these projects. COAS reiterated full support to the Government led ongoing peace process. He however, emphasized that terrorist attacks will not be tolerated and will be responded effectively.
