The United States Supreme Court Friday included 8 cases for review this term, including a T.V network’s attempt to stop the illegal Internet streaming of its shows.
The Nation’s Highest Court added these cases:
1. Argentina vs. NML Capital Ltd; a case involving a long-running dispute over Argentina’s default on its government debt.
2. POM Wonderful vs. Coca-Cola; where the issue is whether a private individual or company has a right to sue in federal court to challenge a food or beverage label as misleading or false under the Lanham Act.
3. Limelight Networks vs. Akamai Technologies, a patent infringement case.
4. Susan B. Anthony List vs. Driehaus, involving the right to sue to challenge a state law forbidding false statements about a candidate during an election campaign, when the speaker contends his statements are truthful.
5. United States vs. Clarke, an Internal Revenue Service case involving a summons of a taxpayer to provide information.
6. CTS Corp. vs. Waldberger, involving whether federal or federal law applies in clean-up of environmental wastes.
7. Nautilus vs. Biosig Instruments, a patent case.
