English versatile film star Christian Bale is in discussions to take on the role of Travis McGee in the upcoming film adaptation of John D MacDonald’s novel ‘The Deep Blue Good-by’.


The ‘American Hustle’ actor is in talks with Fox to take on the character of Travis McGee, reportedly.


The book is the first in a series of 21 that follow McGee, a self mentioned `savage consultant` who recovers people’s property for a fee and along the way gets caught up in trouble combating bad guys and romantically pursuing women.


Whereas not any official proposal has been made as of yet, Bale is said to have accepted star and an proposal is anticipated to be declared soon.


James Mangold going to direct the movie for Chernin Entertainment while ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ hero Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson-Killoran, both will be producers for Appian Way along with Amy Robinson.


The 40-year-old star currently did work with both Fox and Chernin entertainment on ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ – in which he plays Moses. The project date has been finalized, which releases on December 12.
