Malaysia has appealed New Zealand drop an attempted rape case against one of their diplomats in Wellington, referring documents released Wednesday.

Defense staff assistant Muhammad Rizalman Ismail was charged of following a 21 year old woman and attacking her at her home in the same Wellington outskirts where Malaysia’s High Commission is situated.

Police accused him with burglary and assault with aim to commit rape, but he escaped prosecution after invoking diplomatic immunity. Malaysia says Ismail will never return to New Zealand.
