North Korea on Monday offered that Pyongyang and Seoul halt aggressive army activities starting later this week, according to the official KCNA news agency.
The move is spotted as a show of Pyongyang’s wish for peace before a visit to Seoul by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The North’s top military body, the National Defense Commission, said Pyongyang was ready to suspend all acts of verbal provocation and slander from Friday, and urged the South to reciprocate.
