The Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a order to posthumously award the Order of Courage to cameraman Anatoly Klyan, who was killed three days ago in southeastern Ukraine, siad Aleksey Gromov, a deputy head of the presidential staff on Wednesday.


The same day, co-workers paid their last respects to Klyan, who worked for state-run television broadcaster Channel One.


He maintained a fatal gunshot wound when his bus came under mortar fire in Donetsk on June 29.


The journalist, who worked for the television for over 40 years, was awarded the order “for the courage and heroism in carrying out professional duties,” the Kremlin described.
