A US federal petitions court has restored a lawsuit against a defense contractor CACI International, accusing its workers of torturing prisoners at the Iraqi prison.

The move comes a decade after the Abu Ghraib scandal, when proof emerged of prisoner abuse by American soldiers at the facility.

The contractor was charged of abusing and torturing Iraqi detainees at the jail while it was managed by the American military.

The US-based Center for Constitutional Rights filed the suit on behalf of four Iraqi prisoners, who are the plaintiffs in this case.
