Slavish Life of 30 Years, Three Women Saved, London New about three women, London Latest News, London news, London 30 years slavish life,

The couple arrested Thursday in London as part of the investigation of three women held as slaves for over 30 years has been released on bail until January pending further information. The two people, aged 67 years, are not British. They are suspected of forced labor and slavery.

Three women released

The three women released Thursday are a Malaysian, 69, an Irish woman of 57 years and British 30 years. It would have been sequestered in a house in the south of the British capital.

Documentary causing release

Everything is part of a television documentary on forced marriages. The film staged the work of Freedom Charity, a charity fight against slavery. The video played a role as a “catalyst” to “leading one of the victims to call for help,” said Detective Kevin Hyland, Head of Unit in charge of trafficking in persons to the police in London.

The Irish then contacted the NGO to tell her ordeal. The association immediately informed the police who could then investigate and release. “Fortunately she saw the show and was confident enough to pick up the phone!” Said Aneeta Prem, the founder of Freedom Charity.

Nobody would have doubted their ordeal

According to the association, the victims were held in a house could not be more mundane. “I do not think the neighbors knew anything. It was just an ordinary house in an ordinary street,” said Aneeta Prem. According to the founder of the NGO, the three women came out of the house on their own. They were not victims of sexual violence but have suffered physical harm. “The ladies were totally terrified by these people!”

According to British police, the youngest victim may have lived his entire life in this house without any contact with the outside world. “It defies the imagination, it is impossible to imagine such a thing could happen in the UK, in London in 2013,” has moved Aneeta Prem.

Victims a safe place

The three kidnapped “were extremely traumatized and were taken to a safe place where they are always” say the British authorities who paid tribute to the work of Freedom Charity. “We work hand in hand to support these victims who, presumably, were held captive for thirty years,” said the head of the unit in charge of trafficking in persons to the police in London.

“We treat many cases of slavery and forced labor. We have seen some cases where people had been sequestered for periods up to 10 years, but we’ve never seen anything of this magnitude before,” said Kevin Hyland.
