Libyan militia leader Ahmed Abu Khatallah is accused with providing material support to terrorism in the 2012 attack on the US diplomatic compound in Benghazi, has been “compliant but not cooperative” with US interrogators, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Mike Rogers (R-MI) said.
“You can imagine that he was not stubborn, he was not pushing back, but he was probable not providing information…not to the point where an FBI agent would say, ‘Hey, bingo, here we go.
We’ve got something that would turn into actionable intelligence,’” Rogers said on Sunday.
Khatallah pleaded not guilty in a Washington federal court on Saturday. He is an alleged senior leader of the Benghazi branch of the militant group Ansar al-Sharia.
He was captured in Libya almost two weeks ago and was flown to Washington by helicopter early on Saturday.
