India’s space agency ISRO has successfully launched a PSLV-C23 rocket carrying five satellites from the spaceport of Sriharikota on Monday morning.
The main part of the 765kg payload of the rocket is France’s 714kg Earth Observation Satellite SPOT-7.
It also carried a smaller spacecraft from Germany, two from Canada and another one from Singapore. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi also participated in launch ceremony.
Indian Space Research Organisation’s workhorse Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C23 fixed all five satellites into their intended orbits, one after the other between 17 and 19 minutes after liftoff, in textbook precision.
