Almost 100 people on board a SpiceJet flight from Kabul to Delhi ran away a rocket attack by terrorists at the airport in the Afghanistan capital last day.

The attack, intended at the army airbase at the Kabul airport, was launched when the Boeing 737 was getting ready for takeoff.

According to international reports, the rocket struck a target on the army side of the international airport, which led to counter-attacks by the Afghan security forces guarding the airport and suspected Taliban rebels.

The crew members, passengers and the aircraft of the no-frill carrier weren’t affected by the hit but the departure was held-up from the scheduled 1140 hours (local time) to 1500 hours cause of the cross-fire. The flight landed safely at the Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi.

The attack hasn’t put off SpiceJet from stopping their services to Kabul, with an airline spokesperson telling it was “business as usual” for them.
