A Salafi killed during a police operation in Tunisia

The Police killed a Tunisian Salafist and injured two others Tuesday, November 12 after clashes Kebili, a southern city near the border with the country Libya , according to the Tunisian Ministry of Interior.


Eight other members of the group were arrested and five cars entered, one of which contained a bomb. The Interior Ministry said that the Islamists hiding in a house. Two members of the security forces were injured during the operation carried out at dawn.


According to the Government, Islamic extremists take advantage of the chaos in Libya, where the central government is struggling to impose its authority since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, s’ equip weapons and equipment and training .Since January, two opponents were murdered in Tunisia and thirty policemen and soldiers were killed by groups accused of links with al-Qaeda .


Security has been strengthened in the country since the suicide bombing in Sousse on 30 October . A suicide bomber had been detonated on a beach near the resort, the first for more than ten years.


In early November, the uncertainty is up a notch with the suspension of negotiations on the formation of a transitional government. President Moncef Marzouki, accused supporters of the former regime of President Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali seeking to destabilize the country.
