Iran: the United States, the Republicans thank France

the Republicans thank France

The nuclear talks resume in Geneva on November 20. Secretary of State John Kerry is in the UAE to explain U.S. policy. Israelis themselves are wind-up. An Israeli delegation is expected to visit the United States Tuesday, 12 November to lobby.

The Israeli government sent a delegation to the United States to make its case on Iran, and elected Republican Congress set the stage. Do not release the pressure on Iran, they say; fortunately the Geneva negotiations have failed.

“Vive la France” even tweeted, in the language of Molière, John McCain. Followed by Lindsey Graham, another very influential senator on foreign policy of the United States speaking on CNN.

“Thank God, France was there”

“The Israelis are going crazy, apoplectic, seeing what we do. I’ve never been so worried about the approach of the Obama administration regarding the Middle East. We seem to want the agreement considered the worst by all countries in the region. Thank you my God, France was there, and thank you God, we retreated. ”

This failure in Geneva is the worst possible configuration for the Obama administration: the Iranian issue is a domestic political issue, with Republican Party is going to take the side of Israel, as conviction for interfering with the president. Senators are preparing to announce a text away, seek detente with Tehran, will propose a strengthening of sanctions.

It was not until November 20, and the reaction of Iran to see if this opportunity is missed compensable.

SEEN FROM IRAN: Iranians mocks Fabius

With our correspondent in Tehran Siavosh Ghazi

Iranian media blasted against France and Laurent Fabius, singled out after the failure of an agreement in Geneva. ”Mr. Fabius, we will not forget “written on a daily Rafteso , claiming that the Iranians stormed the Facebook page of Laurent Fabius to criticize.

“Mr. Fabius, the Iranians will not forget your hostility. You become the puppet of Israel and Saudi Arabia, “wrote indeed an Iranian user on the Facebook page of Laurent Fabius.

For its part, the major economic daily TESAT, close to the government, says the cover that France will be the big loser of the Geneva negotiations.

“The normalization of relations with the West will happen sooner or later, and the sabotage of France on the negotiations certainly serve the interests of France , “writes Iranian economist Moussa Khalinejad.

France was indeed a major economic partner of Iran, with significant investments companies Total, Peugeot and Renault, who had to withdraw due to economic sanctions.

The head of the Iranian diplomacy Mohammad Javad Zarif confirmed on its Facebook page that an agreement was at hand in Geneva, but only one delegation had problems, referring to the attitude of France.

Response Laurent Fabius

Faced with this outburst, and virtual media, the Minister of Foreign Affairs held to justify and clarify this Monday on Europe 1 radio,

his position and that of France:

“You know, there are areas in which we do not agree with the Russians, the Chinese, etc.. But here we are all absolutely agreed.

There was a very important point I want, Lady Ashton role, and John Kerry with his usual energy has many things done.

We are not far from an agreement with the Iranians. But we’re not there yet. Some say that France is isolated, others say it’s follower. No! We are strong, we are not closed! This is not the same thing!

We want peace, and I see a very significant change from the Iranians. But we want to go through. And I’m hopeful we get a good agreement. “
