Opening of the 19th Convention of UN climate in Warsaw

Opening of the 19th Convention

The 19th UN Convention on Climate Change starts this Monday, November 11 in Warsaw, Poland.Over 190 countries are represented for two weeks to discuss climate issues to come to the planet. Once again, the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions will be the main topic of discussion and debate.

The National Stadium in Warsaw will host no less than 12 000 participants over the next two weeks. To avoid overflow associated with anti-globalization protesters, Poland restores border controls within the Schengen area with Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Lithuania.

The Warsaw Convention should be an important step in the preparation of the global agreement on reducing greenhouse gas to be signed in Paris two years. To achieve this, the 190 participating countries should establish criteria of this agreement: who should participate in the effort to reduce, to what degree and what financial assistance industrialized countries need to bring to the South?

An intergovernmental report on Climate Change, released in September, says it is likely more than 95% that man is responsible for global warming over the last 30 years. What seriously to doubt the willingness of the UN to contain global warming of the Earth 2 ° C by the end of the century.
