New Delhi: At least 10 people were killed and dozens were injured in a stampede at a Hindu place of worship in central India.
According to news, Thousands of followers had gathered near the temple to celebrate a festival called the Somvati Amavasya and it is still not clear what sparked the stampede.
Vinay Kumar Singh (police control room official) said that, “a Stampede broke out very early this morning around 5:30 or so, where 5 men and other 3 women have died”.
Remember that, India (country) has a long history of deadly stampedes at their religious festivals, with some 115 devotees crushed to death near another Hindu temple in Madhya Pradesh (Indian state) in October last year.
