Baghdad: the gunmen opened fire in a mosque in governorate Diyala, eastern Iraq province, in the result 70 people killed and many were wounded in this attack.


According to police officials, in Iraq’s capital Baghdad eastern province Diyala, some unknown gunmen stormed in Mus’ab bin Umair mosque and that time the people were busy in Offering Friday prayer, the series of their firing were continued for a long time. He added that the rescue members have taken to nearest hospitals all dead bodies and injured people.


The official told that it couldn’t confirm, who were behind the attack and not any militant group have took the responsibility of this open gunfire, before this incident, some armed people have killed in a roadside bomb blast.


On the other hand, Iraqi Parliament member Nahida al-Dayani said that at the time of incident nearly 150 people were busy in offering of Friday prayer and killed many with the help of their gunfire.


Nahida said in his statement, “It is a new massacre. Sectarian militias entered and opened fire at worshippers. Most mosques have no security. Some of the victims were from one family. Some women who rushed to see the fate of their relatives at the mosque were killed.”
