Santiago: 6.4-magnitude earthquake hit the region around Chile’s Valparaiso seaport at 7:32 pm (Eastern Time).
The US Geological Survey reported that, the epicenter of the earth-quake was about eighteen (18) kilometers from Hacienda La Calera community and some 117 kilometers from the capital Santiago at a depth of 30 kilometers. Initially the tremor was estimated at 6.6 on the Richter scale.
According to news, No damage or casualties have been registered immediately, while phone communication and electricity was interrupted in some areas.
