Berlin: A German (27 years old) kidnapped by Islamic militants (ISIS) in Syria about a year ago has been released.
According to the reports of German newspaper, 27 years old man is from the state of Brandenburg (eastern German) and went to Syria (country) in 2013 with the intention of delivering humanitarian aid. His family received a video earlier this year demanding a ransom and showing the execution of another hostage.
The newspaper said that, a ransom (a sum of money demanded for the release) was not paid for his release and the German foreign ministry has refused to comment.
German authorities, including the federal police, the foreign ministry and the BND intelligence services were negotiated with the kidnappers.
