Tehran: at least 40 people were feared killed in small Iranian passenger plane crashed. The plane went down in a residential area.
Iran state news agency reported. The aircraft, an Iran-141 jet typically used for short domestic flights, crashed near Mehrabad airport, west of Tehran.
Initial reports indicate that at least 40 people aboard the plane have been killed, including 7 children. The Iran-141 is a small passenger plane produced in Iran with Ukrainian technology.
Remember that, in January 2011, 77 people were killed in place crash while plane was trying an emergency landing in a snowstorm in northwestern Iran. In July 2009, 168 people were killed in plane crashed in northwest Iran. In February 2003, 302 people were killed in mountains of southeastern Iran.
