Mark Jonathon Mortlock Simmonds, the Foreign Office minister, has stepped down from the Foreign Office a week after as Baroness Warsi leaved the cabinet.
The Foreign Office Minister Mark Simmonds has quitted the Government and will resign as Member of Parliament next year, same as Former Minister of State for Faith and Communities done, both ministers lifted up their voices against Gaza violence, ‘intolerable’ parliamentary allowances weren’t sufficient to permit him to get his family from Lincolnshire and rent a flat in London.
While, the FCO minister for Africa, Mr Simmonds has currently been attending meetings at the United Nations on the ongoing political crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Downing Street emphasized that the loss of a second Foreign Office minister within a week, after the quitting of Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, was isolated and that Mr Simmonds’ verdict to quit the Government “was made before the situation in Gaza and Israel had developed”.
