Online Entertainment. Where is it going?

Online-Entertainment.-Where-is-it-going

We have Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Tumblr, Instagram, Vimeo, and tons more websites that we use to cure boredom, keep busy, enjoy content, and to just be entertained. But where is this whole online entertainment headed?

Well, there are a few things that attract people, entertain them, and keep them hooked when it comes to online entertainment. Video, Pictures, Intriguing articles/stories, and Social Interaction are huge. One can easily see that these things fuel internet fun, and one can also see how these things continue to grow and pop up in tons of new forms. For example, we see Instagram adding the ability to post videos and not just photos. We see upcoming Social Television sites popping up. We see snapchat enabling users to send pictures or videos to other people. Watching videos on facebook has blown up. Even on Twitter, users can now post GIFS.

Videos, Pictures, and Social Interaction are extremely attractive when it comes to online entertainment. But when all these are combined into a simple package, as so many sites are doing, it takes online entertainment to a whole new level! And that is where online entertainment is headed. It is headed towards videos, pictures, stories, and social interaction merging into one unit.

Why? Well its just human nature. People like videos and pictures because people find visuals more intriguing than words. People like to experience things as if they were there. They like to relate to things. They want to feel involved. That’s why adding a Social aspect to it makes it even more entertaining. People naturally want attention, the want to connect with others.

Would you rather receive a message/text from a friend that says that she just did something really cool, or would you want to receive a snapchat of a video enabling you to see that really cool thing. Of course you want to SEE it. Because people want visuals.

So, in the future, expect to see more and more communication via images and videos. Expect to see more visual entertainment all over the web. Expect to see super easy, super accessible, super social, and SUPER VISUAL features coming at users through all kinds of websites.
