Saudi Arabia has handed out Lebanon’s army $1bn to aid their combat against self-announced jihadist combatants on the Syrian border.


The Saudi aid appeared as Lebanon army’s chief requested France to accelerate promised weapons supplies and in the middle of reports that a group of Muslim religious leaders were attempting to arbitrate finish to the battling.


Following clash in the eastern region on Tuesday, where soldiers have been fighting with the combatants since Saturday, ambulances came in the town of Arsal in reports of a temporary ceasefire.


Previous, 3 out of 20 police officers taken in to custudy by the combatants were released, police sources stated, reportedly as part of discussions for a truce.


It was a brief break in the clash but bombardment and weaponry fire started again on Tuesday evening, news reporters reported. About 16 soldiers killed and 85 injured in Arsal fighting , whereas many of combatants are killed, including three civilians.
