The government of Sierra Leone has posted hundreds of soldiers to Ebola clinics to impose the separation of patients, the president’s office said on Tuesday, international media reported.
The troops are to “deter relatives and friends of suspected and Ebola patients from forcefully taking them from hospitals without medical consent,” the country’s presidential aide stated.
Sierra Leone has spotted 646 cases of Ebola and 273 deaths since the virus flare up in West Africa in February.
