The United States President Barack Obama has signed a bill approving more $225 million in funding for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system, which has been emerged in association with American defense giant Raytheon.
The additional money is anticipated to re-fill Israel’s supply of missiles, which are used to catch incoming rocket fire from Gaza and appears just a few days after the proposal sailed through Congress last week.
Each Tamir missile set up by an Iron Dome battery costs Israel up to $90,000, whereas the freehand rockets released by Hamas typically cost some hundred dollars a piece.
