Giglio Island: Italy’s once-lavish Costa Concordia cruise liner went on board on its last voyage on Wednesday, as tug boats started pulling it from island shipwreck site to scrap yard grave in one of the largest rescue operations in maritime history.


The international news reported Italian Costa Concordia shipwreck left Tuscany’s Giglio Island on its final voyage on Wednesday.


The lavishness cruise ship drowned in a nighttime accident that left 32 people killed two-and-a-half years ago. The rusting liner is to be dragged to the port of Genoa in northwest Italy to be broke down and scrapped.


Surviving passengers who have come back to Giglio Island were anticipated to gather with locals and holidaymakers to offer a final farewell to the ship.
