The Russian space agency Roscosmos is trying to re-start contact with the Foton-M satellite, which was launched into low earth orbit on last Saturday.
The spacecraft is not reacting to commands from the ground, so mission control could not break down its engine to lift it higher as planned.
Foton-M carries some biological samples as well as geckos, fruit flies and fungi. Its scientific program also contains raising semiconductor crystals in low-gravity conditions.
