The American filmmaker, Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington will be honored for his contribution to cinema at the forthcoming San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain in this September.
The presentation will be happen ahead of the European premiere of the Denzel ‘ The 2 Guns’ star’s last release, ‘The Equalizer’, which will be on screen during the film festival, the international media reported.
Earlier winners of the coveted award include Julia Roberts, Ian McKellen, Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep and last year’s winner Hugh Jackman.
He is not going to receive the organization’s highest award— he will also be opening the European festival with his latest venture, ‘The Equalizer’.
The action flick ‘Training Day’ which directed by Antoine Fuqua, Washington played a former intelligence officer role, who is pulled out of retirement to fight a gang of Russian mobsters. It’s based on the 1980s TV series of the same name.
