The World Health Organization (WHO) reported on Tuesday, 50 latest cases of Ebola and 25 deaths have been declared in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea since July 3, as the lethal virus spreads in families.
The United Nations agency mentioned in a statement that new numbers from health ministries in the three countries explained a total of 844 cases as well as 518 deaths in the epidemic that started in February.
The World Health Organization further told that Guinea’s ministry described two deaths since July 3, however, no latest cases in the past week, calling the condition in the have an effect on region of West Africa a “mixed picture”.
Sierra Leone accounted for 34 of the new cases and 14 deaths, whereas Liberia told 16 more cases and 9 deaths.
He said, “These numbers indicate that active viral transmission continues in the community.”
The World Health Organization spokeswoman, Fadela Chaib, saying to a Geneva news briefing previous on Tuesday, she said, “This means that the two main modes of transmission are home care, people who care for their relative at home, and during funerals, are still ongoing.”
