The Islamist Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen Jihadist Group, who known as al-Shabaab, have stormed the presidential palace in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, and went into the heavily equipped compound.

An Islamist militant organization Al-Shabab spokesman told that clash was continuing but a government official told to international media reporters, the attack was over and the jihadists had all been killed.

According to international news, the Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud wasn’t at the palace at the attack time. The President Mohamud was been present at a function at the residence of the UN special envoy to Somalia, close to the airport.

The Al-Shabab spokesman Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab said, “We have entered the so-called presidential palace. We have now captured some parts of the palace and fighting is still going on,”

The al-Qaeda-aligned al-Shabab group were lost control of Mogadishu in 2011, although frequently carries out attacks in the city.
